Audio Performance For audio testing, we used the latest version 2.2 of the Rightmark 3D Sound CPU utilization test. This benchmark measures the overhead or CPU utilization required by a codec.
Hey Y'all, I need a motherboard to replace my fried Asrock. My next board WILL be either Crossfire or SLI capable. I'm leaning towards ATI at the moment, but the ASUS A8N32SLI has a REALLY good rep. Whether I go ATI or Nvidia this upgrade hangs in the balance. I'm planning on plugging my existing hardware into the board and upgrading it all as the year progresses.
I'm going to buy a new PSU along with the board(PC Power & Cooling). So I don't need any advice there. Eventual upgrades: - 64 bit OS(Ubuntu & Vista) -R600 xfired(whether that's 2 cards or 2gpus on 1card) -4gb OCZ Platinum DDR 184 pin Has anyone used this board with 4gbs of ram? Could you run it at full speed or were there stability issues? I understand that there are issues with that much ram with an AMD generally, but did it occur with this SPECIFIC board?
If you have had ANY weird compatibility issues with anything on this board, or different memory recommendations, or ANYTHING you can think of, I NEED to know. Wireless nics, sound cards, dvd drives, ANYTHING. Otherwise I can promise you that I will manage to find one, and that will be a bad day for me, and those that I unintentionally take it out on. Think of those poor souls I'm am tired of fumbling around and guessing, I just want a high performer that works with my current CPU. Okay, I've been checking forums, reviews, etc. So far this board seems not to have any consistent issues with my hardware. The highest overclocks I'm finding for a 4400+ seem to be in the 2.5-2.6 range, though I found one guy claiming stable 2.7.
And I'm only including guys that used this board. It left me wondering, I know that the 4400+s don't overclock well, but what is the speed where a 4400+ fries regardless of how well it's cooled? I'm hoping it's not 2.7, because I'll be satisfied if I can get it to 2.6, but obviously I'd prefer 2.7. Andatech managed to get a 4000+ San Diego to 3 on this board, but I'll trade the speed for the extra core. Still wish that I had known to buy the Opty when I bought this X2.
